M08 Republic Battle Armor

The M08 Republic Battle Armor. A fully enclosed suit of armor, providing protection against shrapnel, handgun projectiles, low-level energy blasts and burns and a full NBC protection suite. Of course, even though the armor doesn't provide total protection to the wearer, it increases survivability nonetheless. The armor can be defeated by heavy caliber weapons (anti-tank), military-grade energy weapons, and sufficiently powerful/nearby nuclear weapons and/or other radiation sources. The suit provides the wearer an air tank for up to 30 minutes of vacuum exposure. The armor is fitted with full infantryman's range of sensors and electronic equipment, giving maximum situational awareness for all lighting and environmental conditions. The armor is coated with an active camouflage layer, giving it the same ability to "slide" its pattern across the surface of its pieces as with the smartcloth of the m/07 BDU.

The armor pieces is made from layered cevlar, duraplast and plasteel.

Design is an amalgamation of the Clone Trooper p.I and p.II armors and the storm trooper armor. The visor was enlarged to give it a more benign look.
