Description

The Republic kredito is the primary interstellar currency. It is used alongside regional currencies, which are pegged to it. All prices must be presented in local currency and in credits. The value of the credit is determined by the daily market price of platinum. As platinum can have a volitile market value, the price of platinum (and by extension the value of the credit) for the next day is determined 27:77:77 of every day (the last second of a 24 octal hour day). As a rule, 1cr = 1/64 of the value of 30 submassoj (one unco) (31,0945g) of platinum.

The currency can be used in three forms: electronic (card), bills and coinage.
All forms of currency have 1/1024 of a mola (octal mol.) of a long-lived heavy element (element 126) per litre, which makes them nearly impossible to reproduce with autals (at the risk of creating a highly-irradiated money).

One ounce of platinum = 64 credits = 4096 marks = 262144 pence

These coins are full credits, and the series is called "Agloj," the Eagles, ranging from one credit to sixteen credits.

Each coins' obverse is a heraldic eagle with the face value of the coin, and the reverse always has the true value of the coin (the amount of platinum) -both in Standard- with a heraldic eagle and a number of oak leaves. All coins are bimetallic.
