m09 Assault Blaster

This weapon is a further development of the m/08 Blaster Rifle. The internal workings have been modernized and miniaturized where available.
The exterior has also been improved with better ergonomics and ambidextrous handling and controls. The weapon has also been given picatinny rails around the front grip. The buttstock is now foldable AND fully adjustable. The stock is double-hinged, so it can fold to either side. The cheekpad can be adjusted in five increments and the butt itself can be adjusted in ten increments. The system is with a sturdy click-and-snap. The stock does not get in the way of the trigger when folded.

The weapon also sports foldable iron sights. The sights are exactly the same as with projectile weapons, but when the sights have been zeroed, they are not adjusted for range, as a blaster bolt does not experience bullet drop. The rear sight, however does sport a night sight for low visibility combat (if a night-vision sight is not mounted).

The weapon is still loaded by a standard blaster pack containing enough charge and blaster gas for fifty normal shots.

The weapon has a fire mode selector and a bolt power selector. The safety/selector can select safe, semi-auto or full auto (550 rpm). The intensity selector can select dissipating (stun, 0.5 charge), coherent (kill, 1 charge), or over-charge (disintegrate/AT, 3 charge).
Dissipating shot disperses when hitting its target, spreading along the surface where it hits. In most organics, this is enough for sensory overload and loss of consciousness.
Coherent shot retains the coherence of the bolt until all the energy has been expended. When hitting a target, the bolt sheds some of its energy to its immediate surroundings and burns through its target. The amount of penetration is completely dependent on the target material's density and various other properties.
Overcharge is the same as the coherent shot, but far more powerful. The bolt can burn its way through thick steel plates and can almost completely disintegrate lighter targets (eg. organics and small machines).
All modes have an effective max range of 400m. Beyond this, accuracy will start to drop and the bolt will start to dissipate.

As with the previous blaster rifle, the ownership of this weapon is classified as military-only. The weapon is very expensive, but very efficient at what it does.
